Now everyone may not be as zealous or hungry for the Truth as I am but, as I read the Word I began to pray and claim and believe that God would grant and answer my prayer requests. For instance, when I read about Solomon I prayed for the Wisdom of Solomon before I had read the book of Lamentations. (smile)
When I started studying in Corinthians and other books about various spiritual gifts, I prayed, proclaimed and fasted for every one of them! When I read the red letter in my Bible and studied about the miraculous acts of Jesus, healings, feeding many and much more, I also prayed and fasted and proclaimed that as well. Especially after I read what Jesus said to his disciples:
John 14:12: Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.
Once I really got this scripture way down into the bowels of my spirit of acceptance and understanding, I believed that this work that we are all called to do as Christians was just not for the time when Jesus walked the earth! I stand on this because the very last words he uttered in this sentence, “Because I go unto the Father”. He resurrected and he is now seated at the right hand of the throne with his Father. Therefore, the works that he did I can do also and so can you, and the beauty of it is that we can do even greater works. Now really meditate on that, Jesus raised the dead, he healed the sick, he turned water to wine when it was needed, he feed thousands with seven fishes and seven loaves of bread. There was no sickness in him, nowhere in the scriptures do we see anyone giving an account that Jesus was ever sick. He did not worry about bills, money, car note, stock market or any of the things we stress out to the point of building cancer cells in our bodies. Let alone what we are currently eating that is an enemy to our bodies but that is another book (smile). Okay, I hear you; cars, bills, stock market and the types of foods that we eat did not exist in his time. But do you think for one moment if they were, would they be a serious concern of his? NO, because we are in this world but as Christians we do not have to be of this world. What I mean by that is why am I going to worry about something that I cannot do anything about in the first place? If my car note is due and I don’t have the money why am I going to sit up, get depressed, worry, cry, lose my mind over something at that very moment I have no control over? I do apologize for digressing here.
The fact of the matter is I realized and stood on the promises that were given to me in the Bible as it pertained to my personal life, the life of my children, and friends and anyone that God has to cross my path.
Illnesses, heartaches etc.:
Isaiah 53:5 – But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Also, 1 Peter 2:24 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Need, bills paid, debts owed etc. – he provided us with a simple prayer: Matthew 6:9-13 – Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Are we perfect, far from it, do we fall short of faith and belief? Yes, that is our daily battle because we are in this flesh, in other words, because we are human beings. I like to put it this way; we are a spiritual being having a human experience. If we adhere more to the spiritual being that exists in us, then our human experience would not be that difficult. Believe me, I know it is difficult, it is difficult for me aside from the fact that I have experienced visions, spiritual prophetic dreams, witnessed and have been used by God to perform miracles.
(to be continued next week) see you then!
